Happy Holidays! I rarely do a long message- but I felt that with the launch of our Gingerbread House Kit, I wanted to share the story of how it came to be, and how special I think it will be for you and your home. You see, one of my favourite holiday traditions is when we all get together to decorate gingerbread houses. It started as a simple tradition when my son Oscar was 2 - we'd get a pre made house, load up on candies and have a crazy candy house to have on display for the month. Every year we'd do it all over again, and include friends and family.
Now, what started as a relatively simple tradition grew to be a whole family event with everyone taking part - secret stashes of candy, months of pre-planning on what we'd do.
Over the summer was thinking ahead to this Holiday season and thought - what if I 3D Printed a Gingerbread House that we could decorate ... and keep. A keepsake item that every year could be added to.
So over the summer I designed started 3D modelling what I considered to be the perfect Gingerbread house. I went through many variations, trying to find the perfect size, and balance. Finally I came to a design and size I loved. At the same time I was designing this house, I searched the globe for the best (fake) candies one could use to decorate this 3D printed Gingerbread house, and came up with a special recipe of candies and beads to look like candies and, the perfect fake icing to use to decorate the house. In the end, I'm SO proud of this kit because it captures the fun of decorating that I have with my family, but you can keep this home and display it year after year.
